The Bean bag chair is now available from @sofia_physio for babies and children.

The bean bag chair is an excellent alternative to a lounger or cocoon.
It helps the baby adopt the fetal position, calms the nervous system and provides rich sensory input by imitating parental hugs.
Why is the bean bag chair good for babies
  • Sleep
At any age, under adult supervision, you can place the baby or a child in the bean bag chair for a daytime nap.
  • Sense of calm
Thanks to the gentle pressure on the child’s body and the embracing effect of the bean bag chair, the child’s nervous system calms down.
If you also add some gentle tapping on the bean bag chair or rocking, the calming and relaxing effect becomes even stronger.
  • Sensory input
While lying on the bean bag chair, playing on it, climbing over it, or even jumping on it, the child experiences sensory input which helps calm the child’s nervous system.
  • Development
Older babies can crawl over the bean bag chair, strengthening their whole body. They can climb onto it, crawl over it, or get down from it.

ATTENTION!
Important safety information:

  • Babies may only sleep in the bean bag chair during daytime naps and only under adult supervision.

  • DO NOT place the bean bag chair near heating appliances — radiators, heaters, or heated floors.

  • The bean bag chair’s filling conducts heat well, which may increase the baby’s body temperature when warmed.

  • Do not use the bean bag chair under direct sunlight — for the same reason.

  • It is also important to consider the room temperature: in warm rooms, the baby’s body may heat up even more.

Bean bag chair’s care instructions
  • Washing
The bean bag chair’s pillowcase can be removed and washed at 30°C on a delicate cycle. Tumble drying is not recommended.
  • Cleaning
To remove lint, hair, or pet fur from the bean bag chair, we recommend using a lint roller designed for clothing.
  • Pillowcase replacement
If the pillowcase is defective due to manufacturing issues, we will send a new one as a replacement.

If the pillowcase loses its appearance or gets damaged over time, you can purchase a new one separately.
  • Filling material
If the bean bag chair’s filling becomes compressed over time, it can be refilled with beads. This can be done approximately every six months to a year, or whenever you feel it’s necessary.

The beads are available in hardware stores or specialty shops that sell bean bags.
How to use the bean bag chair?
The bean bag chair can be used from birth.

Safety First – the baby may only be left to sleep in the bean bag chair during the day and always under adult supervision!
  • 0-6 months
The baby can be placed on the bean bag chair to lie down, allowing you to free your hands while the baby feels as if they are being gently held in a parent’s embrace.

A major advantage of the bean bag chair is that it allows the baby to move freely without being restricted.

During the first months of life, the baby will remain mostly still, but the bean bag can continue to be used as the baby grows older.
  • 6-12 months
A baby who can already crawl can use the bean bag chair as an excellent playful aid.
The child can climb onto it, get down from it, and even crawl over it — all of which help strengthen the entire body.

These activities greatly support muscle development, improve coordination and encourage movement.

In turn, this helps the baby refine the skills they have already learned and prepares them for acquiring new ones.
How to use the bean bag chair after baby turns one?

After the baby turns one, the bean bag chair can still be used for lying down, sitting, engaging the sensory system, playing, crawling, jumping into it and relaxing.

Adults can also use it for relaxation or spending quality time with their child, and for mothers, the bean bag chair offers a particularly comfortable position for breastfeeding.
